What is Find My Mobile?

Find My Mobile tracks down your device when it gets lost. As many of us rely heavily on our phones for business and personal use the result can be too much to handle. With this in mind, Find My Mobile goes even further by allowing you to remotely lock your device, block access to Samsung Pay and wipe data from the entire device in the event your phone falls into the wrong hands.

The 3D Depth Camera is a Time of Flight (ToF) camera on the Galaxy S10 5G that can judge depth and distance to take your photography to new levels. It uses the known speed of light to measure distance, effectively counting the amount of time it takes for a reflected beam of light to return to the camera sensor. This smartphone ToF Camera is used with Live focus video and Quick Measure, letting you add more creative flair and get information in a way you've never seen before.

In the case of Live focus video, you're now able to blur out the background in real time as you take a video, adding a brand new vibe to your movies. You can even swap between foreground and background focus with ease, to switch up the focus with a tap. Live focus video is available on both the front and rear cameras, so simply open the Camera app and swipe to Live focus video to try your hand at movie direction.

WIth Quick Measure, the camera acts as a 3D camera, judging width, height, area, volume, and more when you put an object in frame. Quick Measure is a preloaded app on Galaxy S10 5G, so open the app and put an object in focus to get a real-time measurement right on your screen.

*The Quick Measure app is separate from the Camera app.*Any measurements provided by Quick Measure may not be accurate and should be used for reference purposes only. Accuracy of Quick Measure may differ depending on various factors including shooting conditions, such as being outdoors, and object characteristics, such as being too large, very small, highly reflective, or extremely dark.

5G is a new data standard that will surpass the speeds of 4G LTE, with a hyper-fast, low latency connection. Theoretically, at its maximum fastest speed, 5G will be around 100 times faster than current 4G speeds, allowing you to download, upload, and stream at incredible speeds without being connected to Wi-Fi. It also will reduce latency, for improved responsiveness and less lag when you're connected.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is Samsung's first smartphone with 5G connection capabilities, allowing you to connect to a 5G network and harness the hyper fast speeds. Mobile carriers around the world are rolling out 5G connections, so as long as you have a 5G compatible phone, you'll soon be able to take advantage of a next generation network.

*Galaxy S10 5G and Galaxy Fold 5G model availability may vary depending on country or carrier. Actual connection speed may vary depending on country, carrier, and user environment.

Use Find My Mobile to find a lost Samsung Galaxy device

So you've just lost a brand-new Samsung Galaxy phone. It's OK! You're fine. Samsung's Find My Mobile feature is here to help. It's free, and if you signed into your Samsung account when you first set up the phone, then it's already set up.

Let's assume you still have the phone to hand. Instead of waiting for something unfortunate to happen, take a few minutes right now to ensure Find My Mobile is enabled and setup on your Galaxy phone or tablet.

Indeed, Google already offers a similar app for all Android devices, and there's nothing wrong with it, but Samsung's service for its own devices gives you more functionality. Note: Not all carriers support Find My Mobile. If you can't locate Find My Mobile on your Galaxy device, your carrier may offer its own version, or you can download Google's Find My Device app via the Play Store. It may even already be installed.

If you signed into your Samsung account during initial setup, like I said, odds are Find My Mobile is already turned on.

Check on your device by searching for Find My Mobile in the Settings app. Alternatively, you can go to Settings > Lock Screen and Security > Find My Mobile. If prompted, sign into your Samsung account to enable the feature.

I suggest turning on all options associated with the feature as well. Remote controls will allow you to do things like force a remote backup, retrieve call and message logs, enable battery saving features and so on. Google location service provides more accurate location information -- vital at a time when you're tracking down a lost device. Send last location will monitor the device's battery and send its last known location right before it loses power.

Samsung doesn't have an app you can use on another phone to track a lost device. Instead, you can use any mobile or desktop browser to visit Once there, log into your account and select the device you're looking for.

If it's powered on, you will see its current location and battery percentage. A popup will also provide a series of actions to take on the lost device:

  • Ring
  • Lock
  • Erase data
  • Back up
  • Retrieve calls and messages
  • Unlock
  • Extend battery life
  • Set guardian

Most of these are self-explanatory. There are a couple that are worth explaining a bit more. For example, retrieve calls and messages will sync with the phone and show you the last 50 calls and messages, complete with phone numbers.

The Extend battery option will provide the option to help you track it longer. Lastly, the Set Guardian option allows you to designate a friend or family member as someone who can log into Find My Mobile on your behalf to track or control your device.
