What is Difference Between Samsung EVO Plus vs Select
When purchasing Samsung MicroSD cards, you will think that What’s the difference between Samsung EVO Select and EVO Plus?
The best answer to this question is: There is no discernable difference between Samsung EVO Plus & Samsung EVO Select. Amazon has the exclusive right to the EVO select name of Samsung Memory cards & both the MicroSD cards are rebranded version of the same SD card.
Amazon has an exclusive on the Select
The main difference between EVO Plus vs EVO select is the branding on the card. Amazon has an exclusive right to sell those EVO Select branding Samsung MicroSD cards. However, Amazon can also sell EVO Plus branding MicroSD cards too. A Redditor had a conversation with Samsung official & they explained about both cards that they come with the same size & data transfer speed. Also, both the cards are manufactured at the same place by following the same process. So there is no difference between both the cards.
It seems the only difference between the Samsung EVO Select and the EVO plus is the branding on the card. Amazon has been given the exclusive right to sell the EVO Select brand but can also sell the EVO Plus as well. When asked by Amazon shoppers, the answers always say they are the same but EVO Select card has a lot different in price than EVO Plus cards.
Specification
Both the MicroSD cards have the same size option like 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 256GB. Both the card comes with U3 rating & Class 10 compatibility. Both the cards have the same water & sweat resistance & protection from magnetic interference.
You really need the top rated micro sd cards that can survive in almost every condition what your GoPro can survive. You can check out a full comparison of Samsung EVO Select vs EVO Plus from here.
Main Difference
The main difference is the color & in price. Samsung EVO plus card comes in red color while EVO select card comes in Green color & both are sold directly by Samsung with their warranty. Buying from Amazon is a plus, as it is a customer oriented website where refund & return is easy in few mouse click only.
Really the only difference that matters between these two microSD Cards is whether you want a red one or a green one. The EVO Plus is sold directly through Samsung and therefore has their warranty. While I’m sure the Select has that too, Amazon has a great return policy so a warranty is almost never needed.
The difference in the price is there, as Amazon has an exclusive right on EVO Select branding cards & often list it as a discounted price, with a coupon code to get more sales. You can also check them out from below link.

What's the difference between Samsung EVO Select and EVO Plus?
Best answer: There is no discernable difference between the Samsung EVO Select and the Samsung EVO Plus — they are rebranded versions of the same SD Card and Amazon has the exclusive rights to the EVO select name.
It seems the only difference between the Samsung EVO Select and the EVO plus is the branding on the card. Amazon has been given the exclusive right to sell the EVO Select brand but can also sell the EVO Plus as well. When asked by Amazon shoppers, the answers always say they are the same.
A Redditor by the name of grab112ler had a conversation with a Samsung representative who explained that the two cards are not only the same speed and size but they are made with the exact same process at the same factory.
What specs are the same?
Essentially all of them. Both microSD Cards have the same sizes — 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB — run at the same speeds when reading and writing — 100MB/s and 90MB/s respectively — and both come with U3 and class 10 compatibility.
Both the Samsung EVO Select and the Samsung EVO Plus come with four different types of protection: water resistance up to 72 hours in seawater, temperature resistance between -25 and 85 degrees Celsius (or -13 and 185 degrees Fahrenheit for our U.S. readers), as well as protection from X-ray and magnetic interference.
Having these kinds of protections for a microSD card is important, especially since they're used in so many diverse products. You really want your microSD card to survive everything your GoPro can.
It all comes down to branding
Really the only difference that matters between these two microSD Cards is whether you want a red one or a green one. The EVO Plus is sold directly through Samsung and therefore has their warranty. While I'm sure the Select has that too, Amazon has a great return policy so a warranty is almost never needed.
We do see more variation in the price of the Amazon branded EVO select than its Plus counterpart though. Amazon can control the price so does seem to put it on sale often.
Personally, I would go for the Samsung EVO Plus. I enjoy the red more than the green and if I can buy directly from the manufacturer I will. That way, if something does go wrong with my product I have a direct line to the person who made it.
It's a coin toss really. The Plus looks nicer.
With the possibility of a better warranty and the fact that it looks like it is going faster — red always looks faster, ask Ferrari — I went with the EVO Plus microSD Card but honestly, there are the same card so either is a good choice.
The Select is an Amazon exclusive but just as good as the Plus.
Let's face it, the EVO Select is exactly the same as the Plus. If you like the green more the red then get it instead.

Samsung Electronics Introduces the EVO Plus 256GB MicroSD Card, with the Highest Capacity in its Class
Samsung Electronics, an expert provider of advanced memory solutions, today unveiled its newest memory card globally – the EVO Plus 256GB microSD card. The EVO Plus 256GB offers the highest capacity for a microSD card in its class, delivering fast speeds and an expanded memory storage for use in premium smartphones and tablets, 360-degree video recorders, action cameras, and drones. Consumers can now record up to 12 hours of 4K UHD video or 33 hours of Full HD video on their mobile device or action camera without needing to change or replace the memory card, allowing them to experience more and worry less about running out of memory.
The EVO Plus 256GB raises the bar for capacity and performance of microSD cards thanks to Samsung’s advanced V-NAND technology, offering high read and write speeds of up to 95MB/s and 90MB/s, respectively. This level of performance will provide general consumers and professionals with superb user convenience for storing heavy-loaded, high-resolution photography and 4K video recording, as well as graphic intensive multimedia like virtual reality (VR) and gaming.
“With the upward trend of consumers using high-performance, high-capacity mobile devices, our new, V-NAND-based 256GB microSD card solution allows us to deliver the memory card consumers have been craving,” said Un-Soo Kim, Senior Vice President of Brand Product Marketing, Memory Business at Samsung Electronics. “Our EVO Plus 256GB microSD card, will provide consumers with large capacity, and high read and write speeds. We are excited to offer our customers convenient and seamless multimedia experiences when they access, store and share all of the content they create and capture.”
The EVO Plus 256GB microSD card provides advanced protection, capacity, and performance with long-term reliability needed to get the most out of today’s electronics, making it an ideal companion for high-end smartphones and tablets with a microSD slot, even in the most extreme conditions.
Samsung will offer the EVO Plus 256GB microSD card with a limited 10-year warranty in more than 50 countries, including the USA, Europe, China, and other regions starting in June 2016 for $249.99 (Manufacturer’s suggested retail price).
