Notebook Processors

The Intel Core 2 Duo class of processors is the successor to the Core Duo with longer pipelines, 64 Bit support, a fourth decoder, an amplified SSE-unit and an additional arithmetical logical unit (ALU). Because of these improvements, the Core 2 Duo CPUs should be 5-20% faster than a similarly clocked Core Duo.

As the name suggests, the Core 2 Duo lineup consists of CPUs with 2 cores. Depending on the mode, the CPU features 2, 3, 4 or 6 MB Level 2 Cache (2 and 4 for Merom CPUs, 3 and 6 for Penryn).

Every model features eX Bit (Execute Disable Bit) technology, SSSE3 (SSE4), and Enhanced Speedstep support. Some models also feature virtualization support (Vanderpool).

The mobile Core 2 Duo is identical to the desktop Core 2 Duo processors, but with reduced core voltage (e.g., 0.95 V vs. 1.188 V) and slower FSB to save power. Laptop Core 2 Duo models are slower as a result.

The Core 2 Duo lineup was presented in July 2006 with the Merom core and was produced in 65nm for the Socket P and Socket M. In Summer 2007, the Santa Rosa update had been published with minimal improvements, such as the faster 800 MHz FSB and Dynamic Acceleration for overclocking a single core.

In 2008, Penryn and the Penryn refresh cores were introduced in 45nm. The architecture was slightly modified, which led to lower power consumption and slightly improved performance. For example, Penryn received a faster division unit and 47 new SSE4 orders.

Нам очень понравился HP EliteBook x360 1040 G5 и потому этот привлекательный 14-дюймовый трансформер заслужил первое место в данном рейтинге. В основу аппаратной платформы входит Intel Core i7-8650U В комбинации с 16 ГБ ОЗУ и SSD на 512 ГБ.

HP EliteBook x360 1040 G5 - это не только хороший вариант для бизнесменов, которые часто в разъездах по командировкам, но и для домашних пользователей. Даже в самой дешевой конфигурации есть все, что можно ожидать от трансформера, потому можно сэкономить пару сотен долларов, если Core i5 вас устраивает. Кроме того, система не способна раскрыть потенциал i7 из-за ограниченных возможностей имеющегося охлаждения.

HP EliteBook x360 1040 G5 Также обладает отличной автономностью, что делает его очень гибким и универсальным устройством.

Конечно, некоторые недостатки у данной модели имеются - возможности апгрейда практически отсутствуют. Оперативная память распаяна на материнской плате и не может быть заменена. Шум вентилятора высокочастотный и под высокой нагрузкой несколько надоедает. Вдобавок, за стилус HP Active Pen Stylus придется доплатить 130 евро.

HP EliteBook x360 1040 G5 - это очень хороший трансформируемый ноутбук для бизнесменов. Если же вы хотите и поиграть после работы часик-другой, то придется подыскать иную модель с дискретной видеокартой.

ТОП-10 смартфонов по версии Notebookcheck

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus

У Samsung Galaxy S10+ (обзор на подходе) установлен 6.4-дюймовый Dynamic AMOLED дисплей с загнутыми краями и отверстием под двойную камеру. В зависимости от конфигурации тыльная панель будет выполнена из керамики либо прикрыта стеклом Gorilla Glass 5. Рамка смартфона выполнена из нержавеющей стали и придает внешности примеальность, а конструкции монолитность.

В основе аппаратной платформы нового Galaxy лежит производительный чипсет Exynos 9820, который дополняют 12 ГБ ОЗУ, а также внутренний накопитель на 1 ТБ. Более того, присутствует поддержка карт памяти! В распоряжении пользователя также скоростной модуль LTE и Wi-Fi 6, а также поддержка Bluetooth 5.0, MST, Ant+ и NFC. Смартфон имеет море возможностей и даже поддерживает двухстороннюю беспроводную зарядку. Камеры у смартфона отличные, но не лучшие на рынке.

Вообще, за смартфонами Samsung серии Galaxy сложно заметить недостатки. Пожалуй, нас не обнадежило время автономной работы новинки, но в Samsung обещают улучшить этот параметр в ближайшем обновлении. Разблокировка по лицу не надежная, а кодек aptX HD по-прежнему почему-то не поддерживается.
